Tim Who?

10 July 2009

Our good friend John hooked us up with John Chambers’s seats to the Giants game back in September against the Rockies. Frankly, I don’t remember much of the game at all, but I do remember that: the seats were fantastic, Jenn managed to get a ball from someone in the dugout after the game, we got our pictures taken with Lou Seal (the Giants mascot) and afterwards stood in line by the locker room for autographs.

The only player that came out for autographs was baby-faced Tim Lincecum. Did I know who he was? Of course not. So when everyone else was getting autographs, I politely declined. Tim Who? No thanks. You can actually hear me in the video saying: “You got yours, we just want one.” Turns out he’s one of the top pitchers in baseball. (He won the 2008 NL Cy Young Award, becoming the first second-year player to win the Cy Young since 1985.) Who knew?!

He grew up in my hometown – Renton, Washington! Even more reason to be a fan.

The highlight for me was meeting the mascot:

Up at AT&T park! Or just a little photofunia.com.

Hahahaa!!! That’s too, TOO funny. I probably would have reacted the same way. I like the game, but I’m not really into the sport.
